Adopt a dog

Find the dog you didn't know you were waiting for.

Every Potter's Angels dog is fostered in a real home, vet-checked, and matched to the right family with care.

The process

How adoption works.

Same simple, transparent process for every dog. Built around finding the right match, not the fastest one.

  1. 01

    Browse available dogs

See who's currently in foster on our AdoptAPet shelter page below. Each dog has photos, an age, breed type, and a short bio written by their foster.

  2. 02

    Submit application

When you find a dog who feels like the one, fill out our 10-minute application. We use it to learn about your home, household, and lifestyle.

  3. 03

    Meet your match

Approved applicants meet the dog at the foster home. The foster shares everything they've learned about the dog — quirks, routines, and all.

  4. 04

    Bring them home

Sign the adoption contract, pay your adoption fee, and head home with your new family member. We're here for support, always.

FAQ

Adoption questions, answered.

Spay/neuter (if old enough), age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, flea/tick treatment, microchip, a vet exam, and any medical care the dog received while in foster. We never ask adopters to cover backlog medical bills.

Outside Vermont?

We adopt across New England.

We regularly place dogs in Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, and Massachusetts. For homes farther away, we can usually accommodate with a transport plan and an in-person home visit from a trusted partner rescue.

Ready to start an application?

It takes about 10 minutes. We'll review and follow up within 3 business days.
